Kuching City Tour

By-passing places of interest, including China Town, Tua Pek Kong Temple, Civic Centre/City Tower, Malay Kampong, Kuching Mosque and Kuching Waterfront to view the Astana, the newly open State Legislative, Fort Margherita (across river) and other buildings from the past surrounding the Waterfront; namely the old Courthouse (now Sarawak Tourism Complex), General Post Office and the Square Tower. A brief stop will be made at a local souvenir outlet. Highlight of the tour is visit to the Ethnology Museum.

Sarawak River Cruise

The cruise of the Sarawak River provides a unique view of the picturesque riverine life of Kuching City. Jong’s Crocodile Farm

Located 30km away from Kuching, the crocodile farm boasts as one of the biggest breeding farms in the country. Spread over an area of three and half acres of land, it houses over 1000 crocodiles. Others animals & birds are Monkeys, leopards, sun bears, pheasants, civets, barking deer, sambar deer, turtles, bats, pythons and hornbills are the other attractions. The crocodiles’ feeding times are at 1100hrs / 1500hrs daily.

Matang Wildlife Centre & Kubah National Park

The Matang Wildlife Centre houses the endangered wildlife of Sarawak in spacious enclosures and Kubah National Park is home to a variety of wildlife including the numerous species of amphibians and reptiles.

Located in Bau, which was once an important centre for gold-mining, the Fairy Cave offers a multitude of “fairy -like” formations  and Wind Cave lives up to its name because of the constant breeze blowing through it.

Bidayuh Longhouse – Annah Rais

The journey to the longhouse passes through scenic countryside surrounded by mountains, located about 70km from Kuching. Observe the communal lifestyle of the Bidayuh community. Walk around the many wooden longhouses connected by bridges and plank walks and the tour highlight visit the “head house” where heads taken in  olden days are ceremoniously kept.

Bako National Park

Gazetted as a national park in 1957, Bako has almost every type of vegetation found in Borneo. Wildlife sightings are almost guaranteed; long-tailed macaque monkeys, silver leaf monkeys, wild boar, squirrels and monitor lizards are commonly seen around the park and so are the rare proboscis monkeys.

Gunung Gading National Park covers a series of rugged mountains near Lundu in southwest Sarawak. While the “rafflesia” – world’s biggest flower is the main attraction;  the park also offers series of jungle trails, waterfalls and clear jungle streams.

Serikin Weekend Market which is located at Kampung Serikin Jagoi, Bau opened on every weekend selling array of merchandise. It is a popular weekend destinations among locals and tourist alike looking for bargain. The stalls at the market are mostly operated by Indonesian Trader who come every Friday evening to set up their for the following day. These stalls of makeshift structure offered variety of colorful fabric…ornamental wood carving, rattan handicrafts and many more.

Mangrove & Irrawaddy Watching Cruise

The Mangrove & Irrawaddy Dolphin Watching Cruise boat cruises are about 3 hours long as it covers the whole of the delta system of the Santubong and Salek Rivers. Once considered as wasteland, environmentalists and conservationists have proved that the mangrove forest that covers the mud flats of the region plays an important role in the local ecosystem. Not only is it the first buffer to floods cause by the rising tide, it is home to many creatures that play a pivotal role in the ecosystem. Enjoy a close view of the heavily silted mangrove swamp which is a safe haven to myriad creatures like mudskippers, crabs, shell fish and monkeys. The mangrove swamp is also a haven to many species of trees with the main species being of course the black and red mangrove, locally known as the ‘Bako’. They are used in the construction industry for piling and also as charcoal for cooking and see other usages.

They are used in the construction industry for piling and also as charcoal for cooking and see other usages.Sarawak’s first marine protected area, Talang -Satang National Park covers an area of 19,414 hectares and was gazetted in 1999 to enhance marine turtle conservation in Sarawak. The park encompasses the coastline and waters surrounding four islands; Pulau Talang-Talang Besar and Pulau Talang-Talang Kecil (located off Sematan), and Pulau Satang Besar and Pulau Satang Kecil (located off Santubong). These small islands are surrounding by patches of shallow coral reef which provide shelter and resting grounds for sea turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs. Three of the islands in the park – Talang Talang Besar, Talang Talang Kecil and Satang Besar –  are known as Sarawak’s “Turtle Islands.”
